Text Box: Welcome

Let's hear a BIG AH-OO-GA for the Newest Members to the Capitol A's

Gene & Judy Cabral

Mary Ann Brodie

One of the newest additions to the Capitol A's club is Mary Ann Brodie. She has been in the Sacramento area most of her life except when traveling with the Air Force.

Up until the recent downward spiral of the housing market, Mary Ann worked as a real estate agent. She left that line of business and now works at a funeral home making funeral arrangements. Mary Ann's husband was tragically killed in an airplane accident several years ago. She has three children, one of which owns a 1929 Model A. She hopes that one day soon he can participate in a tour with the Capitol A's.

Mary Ann owns a 1930 Model A Coupe which is now driveable thanks to Ben Couch, Bob Branson, and many others who pulled together their brain power and fixed up her model A. She also owns a 1956 Thunderbird and enjoys that hobby as well. Mary Ann enjoys playing golf and working at the Reno Air Races with taxing airplanes. She and her husband build a Mustang 2 plane (a 2/3 scale P-51 World War II airplane).

An interesting bit of information; Mary Ann and her daughter have designed a fun and exciting board game and are awaiting a patent before production. Hopefully we will see it on the market in the near future.

Welcome to the Capitol A's!
Ah-oo-ga!!!
Robert Florence and Barbara Kluender

We are so lucky to have two new additions to the Capitol A's. Robert Florence and Barbara Kluender are both long time Northern California residents. They are both retired and now donate their valuable time as docents for the Towe Auto Museum and at the Arthritis Foundation.
Robert and Barbara recently fell in love with the Model A after driving and caring for them at the Towe Auto Museum. They decided they wanted to get into the hobby and purchased their first Model A in May of 2008. Their 1929 Roadster is an older restoration, but is in good running condition. Some years ago, Robert completed a ground up restoration on an original 1969 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. They both also worked for an auto racing team with the SCCA who raced Corvette modified cars.
In addition, Robert and Barbara, enjoy traveling with the Towe Auto Museum on tours. They also enjoy traveling to Italy and are planning a two week cruise through the Panama Canal in the near future.
They heard of the Capitol A's through many fellow Model Aers at the Towe. They hope to learn to drive their new addition and learn to work on it as well. Welcome Robert and Barbara to the Capitol A's. We look forward to having you at all of our club functions. Ah-oo-ga!!!

 Tom and Cathy Urban
We are pleased to welcome Tom and Cathy Urban to the Capitol A's.  They are both California natives.  Cathy works at a Kaiser call center.  Tom was a substitute teacher in Rio Linda until 2003 when he was hit by a drunk driver.  He was in a coma for over three weeks and died twice at the scene.
Tom and Cathy both enjoy dancing and going for rides in their newly purchased 1928 Speedster.  He had been looking for a car club and found the Capitol A's on the web.  He's always wanted an antique car and the speedster really caught his eye.
The Urbans have been married for thirty years, have a 22 year old daughter and a 28 year old son who will be getting married in September.  Tom and Cathy have been taking ballroom dance lessons to prepare for the wedding.
While surfing the web one day, Tom came across a great "Era Clothing" website.  Be sure to ask him about it!!
The Urbans are a wonderful addition to our club, welcome to the
